[Also in Group XXV] A clamping-screw for a terminal, comprises a screwthreaded shank a with a conical end, and a pressure-piece b connected thereto by a neck d. In use, when the piece b abuts the wire &c. being clamped, further torque applied to the shank severs the neck so that the piece b remains stationary during final tightening. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the flat pressure-piece is pressed to a shallow cone, and in another arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown), the piece is machined with a conical outer surface.
