Abstract

748,841. Automatic speed control systems. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Sept. 22, 1954 [Sept. 22, 1953], No. 26121/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (4). In a Ward-Leonard system having speed control in accordance with the difference between a reference voltage and the motor terminal voltage, the load-current-compensating signal (derived e.g. from the voltage drop across the compoles) is applied through a pair of magnetic amplifiers so that the compensating signal reverses in polarity when the " generator " changes from generating to motoring. Specification 738,662 is referred to.
