748,804. Cams and tappets; linkwork. KOLLSMAN INSTRUMENT CORPORATION. Aug. 18, 1953 [March 17, 1953], No. 22728/53. Class 80(3) An adjustable cam comprises a number of radially adjustable screws 20, Fig. 2, in a ring 16, the ends 24 of which form a non-continuous cam track for engagement by a follower comprising a roller 28 on a pivoted arm 72 and a ring 32 of greater diameter interposed between the roller and the cam track. This cam and follower device is adapted to vary the angular relationship between a driving shaft 40 (see also Fig. 1) carrying a member 44 and a co-axial driven member 62 carrying a member 64. The follower arm 72 is pivoted on member 64 at 92 and is coupled by a link 78 with the driving member 44. A spring 96 between the members 64 and 44 serve to maintain the follower in contact with the cam track. As the driving shaft 40 rotates the cam. follower effects relative angular adjustment of the driven member 62. Specification 748,803 [Group XXV] is referred to.
