Abstract

748,698. Electromagnetic switches. CLANG; Ltd., and HARWOOD, C. D. March 22, 1954 [Dec. 22, 1952], No. 30793/52. Class 38(5) A change o v e r switch is operable upon de-energization of a solenoid 7 whereby a core 8 pivotally carrying a link 14 drops and a roller 15 engages an arm 10 at one side of a projection 17 to tilt the arm about its pivot 11 into the other extreme position, a tension spring (not shown) acting between a fixed point 12 and a point on the arm above the pivot 11. Insulating links 16 pivotally connected to the arm 10 carry roller contacts 5, 6 co-operating with pairs of contact strips E, E<SP>1</SP> and F, F<SP>1</SP> whereby the contact pairs are alternately bridged upon successive de-energizations of the solenoid. The switch is described incorporated in a system (Fig. 1, not shown) in which a supply, which energizes the solenoid 7, is connected alternately to two pairs of output terminals.
