748,198. Supporting and mounting bearings. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Nov. 19, 1954 [Nov. 20,1953], No. 32238/53. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group XX] A gyroscope has pre-stressed thrust bearings 3, the outer races of which are cemented in position in a spinner 1. The inner races are mounted on a spindle 4, fixed to the gimbal, which also carries an electric drive member 5. While the cement is setting, a predetermined axial force is applied to the outer races.
