Abstract

747,379. Spray-producers. STACKHOUSE, LAURENCE & CO., Inc. Feb. 9, 1954 [Feb. 25, 1953], No. 3758/54. Class 69 (3). An aerosol dispenser of the type comprising a container 12 for the spray substance mixed with a liquefied propellant gas, includes a valve housing 15 with vents 20 disposed above the liquid level, and a dip tube 18 depending from a boss 17 and communicating with the liquid and the valve housing. The valve body 21 has a hollow stem 25 attached to a valve operating button 28 which supports an outlet nozzle 30, and a spring 23 urges the valve body upwardly against a gasket 22. When the valve body is depressed liquid passes up the dip tube into the valve housing and is atomized by propellant gas passing through the vents 20, and the atomized substance flows through grooves 27 in the valve body and passages 26 to the outlet nozzle. Alternatively the vents 20 are arranged in the wall of the dip tube.
