[Also in Group XX] Exposures for taking still or motion pictures are determined by means of the data obtained by'measuring with a photo-electric cell the brightness of chosen parts of an image formed on a ground glass screen. In a still or motion picture camera having a reflex viewfinder, or a still camera employing a focusing screen, a photo-electric cell of small dimensions may be mounted close to the ground glass focusing screen on the same side as the objective upon a joystick device to enable the brightness of any part of the screen to be measured. As the photo-cell is movable across the field of view of the operator, it is mounted on a transparent arm to avoid abscuring the view.
