Abstract
746,539. Furnace charging machines. DANGO, B., and DIENENTHAL, H., [trading as DANGO & DIENENTHAL KOMM,-GES.]. Feb. 4, 1954 [Feb. 6, 1953], No. 3383/54. Class 51(2). In a combined furnace charging and poker machine, mounted on a travelling carriage the push rod 3 movable in and out of a charging bar 2 is adapted to engage either a poker 4 or the discharge plate 9 of an open-ended charging box 6 which has a slotted end 7 seating on the head 8 of the charging bar. The push rod 3 is formed at its end with an upwardly turned hook 10 which engages a pin 12 on the plate 9, Fig. 2, or a similar pin 13, Fig. 3, on the poker 4 which is locked in position by a further pin 14 inserted by hand in the head 15 of the poker. In a modification, Fig. 4, the push rod head 16 is formed with lugs 22, a slot 23, and an L-shaped slot 17 into which drops a bar 19 on the head 20 of the poker 4. Slight forward move. ment of the push rod 3 causes the bar 19 to engage the horizontal section 18 of the slot 17 and a cross-head 24 on the poker to engage the lugs 22 as in Fig. 5, (not shown). Further movement of the push rod 3 frees the extended arm 29 of a lever 27 pivoted at 26 to the poker from its engaging of the charging bar head 8 and the lever falls, the lug 28 entering the slot 23 and looking the poker to the push rod as in Fig. 6, (not shown.).
