Abstract
778,767. Cooling coke. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Jan. 30, 1956 [Feb. 14, 1955]. No. 2979/56. Class 51 (2). Coke is cooled in a container tiltably mounted on end trunnions by gas supplied to one end of a conduit 8, Fig. 2a, formed of slotted plates 9, 10, the plate 10 being pivoted on an axis 14, so that when the container is tilted to discharge its contents the plate 10 swings into the open position shown in Fig. 2b, thus permitting the discharge of coke particles from the conduit. In a modifications, the conduit is formed of pivoted plates 21, 22, Fig. 3b, one of which, 21, is provided with a counterweight 27 on an arm 26 connected with the plate 22 by a pin 30 engaging a slot in an arm 28 attached to the plate 22. The movable plates may be formed of independently pivoted sections.
