Abstract

935,833. Dispensing aluminium receptacles. REYNOLDS METALS CO. Sept. 25, 1959, No. 32747/59. Class 78 (1). Receptacles 94 (Fig. 4) are supported in a stack by rods 32 and rest on levers 36, oscillation of which levers permits the discharge through opening 26 of the lowermost receptacle under gravity. Lever 36 (Figs. 8, 11.-Each lever is pivoted at 46 and caused to oscillate by reciprocating driving- bar 38. The lever carries two fingers 60, 82. Finger 82 is pivotally carried by pin 50 and is resiliently supported at 64 to adjust itself to local variations in the thickness of the rim of the receptacle, and is positionable vertically by the operator by means of screw 76 for use with receptacles of differing rims. Sub-baseplate 24 (Fig. 8) which includes the discharge opening 26, is interchangeable to allow for use with differing sized receptacles. Operation.-At the first stage the lowermost receptacle rests by its rim on the four fingers 82. At the second stage, each lever has oseillated to permit the receptacle to fall on to fingers 60; and at the third stage, each lever has again oscillated to permit the receptacle to fall through opening 26.
