Abstract
739,478. Discharge articles. BAHLSEN, W. March 17, 1954 [May 15, 1953], No. 7704/54. Class 78 (1). Apparatus for discharging one or more articles from a stack comprises a ram 5, an abutment 6, and a table 1, the latter lowering slightly to ensure that the ram discharges the same number of articles at each movement despite variations in article thickness. As shown, when ram 5 advances from the left to push four biscuits to the right the biscuits if too thick contact abutment 6 on lever 7 so that said lever swings about axis 8 against spring 18 to depress pin 9. Since the latter pin is supporting crank lever 10, the said crank lever falls to cause pin 12 likewise to fall. As the latter pin supports the table 1, said table falls in consequence to permit all four biscuits to be discharged by the ram. With the return of the ram, cam disc 17 automatically causes lever 15 to elevate the table so that the mechanism returns to its original position.
