745,909. Knitting-machines. PLANCK, A. Nov. 13, 1952 [Aug. 9, 1952], No. 28694/52. Class 74 (2). A yarn-feeding device for a multi-feed circular knitting-machine, in which the yarn passes through a tension regulating device and between intermeshing tapered gear-wheels to an electric stop-motion, has the regulating device, indirectly driven gear-wheel and the stop-motion mounted on a base-plate 8 which may be clamped on a sleeve 6 surrounding the drive shaft 5 of the directly driven wheel 7. The yarn 16 is fed through an eye in a lever 29 of a damped disc 25, between the feed rollers, through a feeler lever 34 of the stop-motion and through an eye in a lever 28 mounted on the disc 25. The wheel 7 is driven from a large crown-wheel 3 common to all the feeding devices by means of a pinion 4 and the drive shaft 5. The other wheel is mounted on a lever pivoted to the base-plate 8 so that the intermeshing of the wheels may be adjusted to alter the basic feeding rate. As the tension of the yarn varies the lever 28 is moved and rotates disc 25 to vary the position of the yarn between the wheels.
