Class 80(1) In a belt fastening appliance for securing wire hook type fasteners in a belt end, and comprising two mechanically operated jaws 5, 6 and a slotted bar 4 for supporting a row of fastener hooks, an additional deeper slot 4c is provided at the end of the bar 4 to accommodate and align the end fastener of a length of fasteners in a wide belt whilst a further length is applied and to allow for the change in distance between the points and the loops of the hooks when they are forced into the belt.
