Abstract
744,162. Pressure-exchangers. JENDRASSIK, G. Oct. 21, 1953 [July 22, 1952], No. 18489/52. Class 8(1). In a pressure-exchanger, means are provided for varying the tangential component of gas flow between a ring of cells and the associated ducting in order to control the speed of rotation or adjust the gas flow to accommodate fluctuations in the rotational speed. Blades 10 in inlet ducts 14 are angularly movable under the control of a governor 17 on a driven shaft 16. In a modification the blades are manually controlled and in a further modification they are controlled by a device sensitive to pressure or temperature or speed and pressure in parts of the exchanger or associated apparatus. The blades may be actuated through a servo device. The exchanger may be of the radial flow type.
