744,037. Blasting cartridges. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 30, 1954 [Dec. 24, 1953], No. 35909/53. Class 9(1) A connector for joining blasting cartridges 11 end-to-end comprises a hoop 15 of spring sheet metal from which spring lugs 20 and projections 21 are stamped out. The projections 21 act as abutments for the canisters. 11 limiting their entry into the hoops and the lugs 20 engage the rolled seams of the canisters to prevent withdrawal. Similar hoops 14 to connect priming canisters 13 in the column of blasting charges are provided with a grooved projection 16 so that detonating fuze cord 17 may be connected to the assembly. A sling 12 on the top cartridge is used to lower the assembly into a borehole. Specification 659,413 is referred to.
