Abstract
743,721. Junction-boxes. YOUNG, S. G. March 29, 1954 [March 4, 1953; Nov. 4, 1953], Nos. 6081/53 and 30529/53. Class 38 (1). A moulded junction-box is formed with radial ribs 2, Fig. 2 (Prov.), each having a transverse V-shaped slot 4 in which two or more wires are clamped together by a screw 6 engaging threads in the rib. The screw may be inclined to the plane of the slot or, as shown in Fig. 4, the slot may be L-shaped and the screw 6 arranged at right angles to the limb 4 so as to clamp the wires in the limb 10. The slot 41, Fig. 1, may be arcuate to grip the wires 15 temporarily whilst the screw 6 is tightened. Fig. 2 (Comp.) shows a modification wherein the rib 2 is not threaded and the screw 6 engages a nut 16 held non-rotatably in a recess 18. The screw may be inclined to the slot 4<SP>1</SP>.
