Abstract
742,958. Textile drawing mechanism; condensers. ESTIRAJES BALMES, SOC. ANON. July 28, 1953 [Nov. 11, 1952], No. 20874/53. Classes 120 (1) and 120 (2). Drawing mechanism comprising a device for pressing and condensing a sliver between consecutive pairs of rollers in a spinning or like machine consists of a rigid frame 7 and a roller 6 within the frame that bears against the lower rollers 1, 3 of the two consecutive pairs, the frame extending downwards to form a condenser 17 and upwards to form a handle 8. In one form, Fig. 1, the frame 7 and the pressing roller 6 rest freely on the rollers 1, 3 with the roller journals 10 clear of ribs 11 which support it when it is not in operative position. These ribs are so arranged that the roller 6 can only be removed from the frame by applying pressure. In an alternative form, Fig. 9, the roller 26 may have recesses instead of journals and the frame 27 has cylindrical projecting parts 28 that pass into the recesses. In this case, the frame may consist of three units secured together with screws and will not rest on the rollers 1, 3. Instead of a plain roller 6, a grooved one may be employed with which a narrow roller co-operates and the frame 7 has a slot at the bottom to allow slivers to pass into the groove.
