Class 38(5) The operating handle of a manually-operable switch is slidable in a pivotally-mounted member between a stored position and an operating position the switch casing having ar aperture through which the handle is adapted to pass anc the aperture having a pivoted cover which is biased to its closed position. The handle 22 is shown in its stored position in Fig. 1 where it is contained wholly within the casing 25, being slidable in a member 18 pivoted at 19 and connected by a link 17 to an over-centre sprang toggle 10, 12 the mid-point 14 of which is connected by a link 15 and pin-and-slot 7 to a contact and fuse carrier 5. The door 26 is sandwiched between the member 31 and a box member 37, the latter having a slot through which the member 18 extends. This slot has an arcuate wall 38 having a gap in a position corresponding to the open position of the handle 22 so that a pin 39 on member 18 can only pass through the gap to allow removal of door 26 when the switch is open. In addition, a fixed part 20 carries a spring-biased member 43 having a pin 41 which enters a hole 42 in the member 18 which is thereby locked in the open position, when the door 26 and member 37 are withdrawn.
