This pivotal mounting for the circuit breaker is particularly adapted for ease in wiring as with the saddle spaced from the back wall of the box (as more particularly shown in Figure 2) to provide a wiring space, the screw 58 may be loosened and the saddle and its associated parts flipped to the exterior of the box, whereupon the wires may be drawn into the box interior and the saddle then readily swung back into the box and the stud i8 tightened to hold the breaker in position within the box.
It is to be noted that the crank 8 always extends in.front of the breaker with its part 9 always in engagement with the handle l to prevent damage thereto.
' To facilitate the swinging movement of the saddle l to the box exterior, the corner thereof remote from the pivotal mounting 5 is provided with a chamfered portion 24 which may be in the form of a rounded curve if desired.
While certain preferred embodiments of the invention have been specifically disclosed, it is understood that the invention is not limited thereto as many variations will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art and the invention is to be given its broadest possible interpretation within the terms of the following claims:
What is claimed is:
1. In an enclosed circuit breaker,-an enclosing box, a cover for said box, a circuit breaker mounted in said box and comprising automatically and manually operable electric circuit breaker mechanism, an enclosure for said mechanism and an operating handle extending through the enclosure, an operating member rotatably mounted on said box, said member having a portion extending over said circuit breaker and carrying a part engaging said handle, said member having a portion extending exteriorly oi the box wall and constituting an outside operating handle, said part comprising a removable element having spaced, depending legs disposed on opposite sides of said circuit breaker handle without positive connection thereto and"operating to move the same in response to movement of said operating member.

In an enclosed circuit breaker, .an enclosing box, a cover for said box, a circuit breaker mounted in said box and comprising automatically and manually operable electric circuit breaker mechanism, an'enclosure for said mechanism and an operating handle extending through the enclosure, a crank rotatably supported on opposite walls of said box and having a portion extending over said circuit breakensaid portion carrying a part engaging said circuit breaker handle, and an having operative connection with said crank, said I greases gaging said handle, saidelement having another portion on the exterior of said box and serving as an outside operating handle.

In an enclosed circuit breaker, an enclosing box, a cover for said box, a U-shaped saddle pivotally mounted in said box, a circuit breaker mounted on said saddle and comprising automatically and manually operable electric circuit breaker mechanism, an enclosure for said mechanism and an operating handle extending through the front of the enclosure, a crank rotatably mounted on said saddle and extending over the front of said breaker and carrying a part engaging said handle, an outside operating handle mounted on said saddle and having operative connection with said crank, said saddle and its associated parts being bodily swingable to the box exterior, said crank extending over said breaker and engaging the breaker handle through said part at all times to Protect said breaker handle against damage.

In an industrial type circuit breaker, an enclosing box, a cover for said box, a U-shaped saddle disposed in said box with the base of the U spaced from the back wall of the box, a circuit breaker having a front operating handle mounted on said saddle and an operating member rotatably mounted on said saddle and having a portion extending over said breaker and carrying a part engaging said handle, said member extending to the exterior of the box and terminating in an operating handle, said saddle being pivotally mounted within said box and having a clearance portion remote from said pivot to provide for swinging movement to the exterior of said box.

In an enclosed circuit breaker, an enclosing box, a cover for said box, a U-shaped saddle disposed in said box with the base of the U spaced from the back wall of the box, a circuit breaker having a front operating handle mounted on said saddle and an operating member rotatably mounted on said saddle and having a portion extending over said breaker and carrying a part engaging said handle, said member extending to the exterior of the box and terminating in an operating handle, said saddle being pivotally mounted on said box with the corner thereof remote from said pivot chamfered to provide clearance for swinging movement of the saddle.

In an enclosed circuit breaker, an enclosing box. a cover for said box, a supporting member pivotally mounted in said box for swinging movement to the exterior thereof, a circuit breaker mounted on said member and having a front operating handle, a crank rotatably mounted on said member and extending over the front of said breaker and carrying a part engaging said handle, an outside operating handle having operative connection with said crank, and an interlock comprising a part carried by said member, a second part carried by said box and a third part carried by said cover.

In an enclosed circuit breaker, an enclosing box, a cover for said box, a supporting member pivotally mounted in said box, a circuit breaker mounted on said member and having a front operating handle, a crank rotatably mounted on said member and extending over the front of said breaker and carrying means engaging said handle, an outside operating handle connected to said crank, and an interlock comprising a part rotatable with said outside handle and crank, a second part pivotally mounted on said box and a third part carried by said cover, said first and second parts being readily engageable and disengageable upon swinging movement of said member, said second part preventing rotation of said first part when the cover is open and engaging said third part to prevent opening of said cover when the breaker is closed.
