Abstract

741,496. Adjustable moulds for making fireplace surrounds &c. ENGLISH FIREPLACES (WIMBLEDON), Ltd. April 13, 1954 [April 14, 1953], No. 10148/53. Class 87(2). An adjustable framework, for moulding fireplace surrounds, paving slabs, tiles, panels and like articles, comprises side members FB of channel section which frictionally engage adjustable corner connectors of L, T or X cross-section, CCL, CCT, CCX. The side members may be held by friction alone, or a spring clip may be inserted between lugs 4, on connectors CCT, CCL, CCX, and the inner vertical walls of FBI, 2 &c. to clamp the connectors to the side members which may be inset, as at 19, to permit corner alignment. Filler plates may be provided to fill the spaces, caused by the enlargement of the mould, which may be the same as the bars FB, being locked in alignment with the side members of the mould by the connectors CC, or may form a part of the connectors CC. The side members FB may alternatively be of an inverted U crosssection, Fig. 4, and engage adjustable connectors CC which have rectangular pins 13 sliding in elongated slots 14 in the side members FB 10, 11 and fixed connectors having pins 11 engaging holes 12 in the side members FB 11, 12. The framework may be fixed to a slabbing bench SB as by pins 20 engaging slots 16 in the bench through perforated lugs 17, 18. Specification 722,929 is referred to.
