Abstract

613,245. Building blocks. HOWSE, A. R. June 13, 1946, No. 17675. [Class 87(i)] [Also in Group XV] A building block comprises facing slabs 11, 12 integrally connected by end channel portions 14 and a central apertured portion 13. The portions 13, 14 are displaced vertically with respect to the slabs 11, 12 to provide tapered projections 22 and recesses 21. The side faces 19 of the channels 14 and aperture 17 may be parallel or inclined. The slabs 11, 12 may be recessed at 23 along one or more outer edges. The apertures of the block may be lined with metal, wood, fibre board &c. In a modification, Fig. 6, tapered ribs 43 are provided along the side edges of the apertures 41 which may taper vertically of the block. Corresponding half-blocks, L-shaped corner-blocks and closure members for door &c. openings may be provided.
