740,454. Luminescent screens. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Sept. 24, 1953 [Oct. 11, 1952], No. 25522/52. Class 39 (1). Phosphor particles are settled from an aqueous suspension containing solely between 5.75 and 12 grams of potassium silicate solids per litre; the sticking potential is raised and ion burn is also reduced. A detailed example describes the preparation of a suitable solution containing 10 grams per litre of tap-water of specified characteristics, and its application to settle a zinc and cadmium sulphide phosphor, activated with copper, resulting in a raising of the sticking potential from 13 kv. to 21 kv.
