740,225. Fluid-actuated valves. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. March 25, 1954 [March 31, 1953], No. 8708/54. Class 135. A pressure regulator comprises a differential piston 5 which acts as a shuttle valve controlling a passageway from the pressure inlet 2 to the working line 4 and from the latter to the exhaust 3. The inlet communicates through a passage 13 and restriction 14 in the piston with a chamber 15 into which the upper end of the piston projects, so that the inlet pressure acts on the piston against the loading spring 6. The pressure in the working line 4 also influences the piston as it acts on the differential area D2-D1. The pressure in chamber 15 is limited by a ball relief valve 16 which is pressed on to its seat by an electromagnet 20. Springs 21, 22 counterbalance the weight of the armature and the rod that presses the ball downwards.
