Abstract

739,975. Kinematograph apparatus. PAILLARD SOC. ANON. April 12, 1954 [May 1, 1953], No. 10685/54. Class 97 (1). Intermittent feed mechanism comprises two claws 1, 2, Fig. 1, at opposite ends of the gate, pivoted to a common driving crank 10 with a friction device at the pivot so that when the crank is rotated in one direction one claw is brought into driving engagement with the film while the other is retracted and vice versa, so that a reversal of the direction of rotation produces a reversal of feed. The claws are of the pawl type which slide over the film on the return strokes. Upward movement of the inoperative claw is limited by one of the stops 18, 19. The pressure plate 7 is retractable for film threading and carries projections 20, 21 which lift both claws away from the film path. Alternatively, this may be done by a member 24, Fig. 5, engaging extensions 22, 23 of the claw members.
