Abstract
739,606. Spray-producers. ANDREWS, A. M. July 9, 1953, No. 19118/53. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A sprinkler hose includes at least two liquid conduits, wherein the conduits, or each conduit, are or is formed from an elongated longitudinally perforated strip of flexible water-impervious material which is folded longitudinally and joined to itself, and to the other of the strips if more than one is used. In Fig. 2 the hose consists of tubes, 10, 11 joined longitudinally and formed from two elongated perforated strips. The strips may be of plastic and the joining effected by the method described in Specification 676,709, [Group VIII]. Each strip emits laterally extending spray streams. Alternatively the hose is produced from a single strip as indicated in Figs. 7 or 9, which Figures show the hose in its unexpanded state. The hose inlet is connected to a sleeve 72 by curved segments 75, 76 inserted in the ends of tubes 10, 11 which force the tube walls against the inner wall of the sleeve, and the sleeve is loosely connected to a threaded part 70. In order to vary the effective hose length a closure is provided comprising a cylindrical part 82, Fig. 13, e.g. of rubber, and a sleeve 83 between which parts the hose is clamped. Specification 733,122, [Group VIII], also is referred to.
