739,540. Container closures. RUETZ, K. April 5, 1954 [April 16, 1953], No. 9906/54. Class 125 (3). In a bottle &c., closure with a cover 11 and a U-shaped closing stirrup coupled thereto and having projections 7 slidable in recesses 4 at both sides of the bottle mouth which has a bulge 2 with guiding edges 3, the stirrup has an upper inwardly projecting edge 9 and the cover has lateral projections 10 at opposite sides and lying under the edge 9 when the device is closed, the recesses 4 having a roll-off edge 5 at one end and a slot 6 at the other end to receive pins 16 on the projections 7. In the closed position projections 7 rest under edges 3 so that the edge 9 of the stirrup presses the cover 11 and gasket 12 on to the bottle mouth. To open the bottle the stirrup is tilted with projections 7 on edges 5 so that tongues 17 on the stirrup pass under the edges of cover 11 to raise it at the front, the cover having a lug 13 with an opening 14 receiving a nose 15 of the bottle to allow pivotal movement. To completely detach the device, the tilted stirrup is withdrawn so that pins 16 rest on rear ends of slots 6 and the cover may then be detached from nose 15 the stirrup being subsequently removed by pushing pins 16 into recesses 4 and then with drawing against edges 3.
