738,767. Electric cookers and ovens. JACKSON ELECTRIC STOVE CO., Ltd. Oct. 15, 1953 [Nov. 7, 1952], No. 28141/52. Classes 39 (3) and 126. A domestic cooker has a self-contained top section constituting a hob a with boiling plates c with a warming compartment d immediately beneath it, this section being carried by legs or panels j which support by studs a second unit comprising a self-contained oven k depending centrally below the top section ; and the wiring and the switches are placed in a compartment at one or both sides or at e behind the warming compartment d. The switches are operated by spindles f extending from knobs g at either side of the warming compartment door h, which is hinged to drop down. The top section is removable as a whole for servicing or for independent use. Each of the two leg sections comprises two channel-section legs j rigidly connected by a pressed steel panel m carrying a horizontal strut n and a top flange for bolting to the top section. Each rear leg carries a roller o. The oven is a rectangular box of pressed steel surrounded by lagging enclosed in a wrapping of sheet metal and has removable heating elements and a vertically hinged door. The strut n is for supporting towels. An indicator lamp i on the front surface is connected to the switch-box. A sheet metal cover p at the rear of the oven covers internal electrical connections.
