Abstract
734,057. Fencing. TURNER'S ENGINEERING FORGINGS, Ltd., and TURNER, H. J. Feb. 15, 1954 [May 8, 1953], No. 12829/53. Class 45. In a fencing or railing comprising a tubular structure of posts a and rails b, the rails have tongue and' slot connections with the posts. The fence shown in Fig. 1 carries a screen m of wire netting, expanded metal or chain link mesh. As shown in Fig. 6, the tongues c are formed by flattening the ends of the rails band the slots d are formed in the post a, the tongues being straight, or bent so that the tongues coact with each other or with the internal surfaces of the posts. In a modification the tongues are carried by sockets fixed to the ends of the rails. In the modification shown in Fig. 12, the ends of the rails are partially flattened to receive the ends of a connecting plate c resting in the slots d which extend to the top of the post over which a cap l is fitted.
