Abstract

295,737. West, C. E. May 12, 1927. Fencing posts and standards; trellis and lattice work.-Fences and trellis work comprise or are built up of longitudinally slotted thin metal stakes or bars of various lengths and of V, semicircular, or like section, with bendable flattened V-shaped ends. A trellis may be formed by connecting upright stakes together by bent horizontal bars and then connecting these together by other bent bars pushed into slots in them, the ends being secured by bending over. A fence may be formed by connecting together vertical and horizontal stakes or bars having plain V-shaped ends or barb-like V-shaped ends 10, as shown in Fig. 5. The top bars 7 may be placed in position with the ends 10 of the upright stakes 2 passing through the slots 5, the ends 10 afterwards being bent over. Intermediate bars 9 have their ends bent at right angles before being passed into the slots 5 in the uprights. Wire netting may be used to cover the frames.
