733,679. Reaping-machines. PHILLIPS, C. M. May 5, 1953, No. 12498/53. Class 6 (3). An apparatus for association with a reaping- machine of the kind having a cutter-bar 10 backed by a platform or transverse conveyer 11 comprises a manifold 15 supported on brackets 17 so as to extend forwardly of the cutter-bar and above it, the manifold being rotatably adjustable on the brackets and being provided with air-ducts 13, along its length, extending downwardly and terminating in rearwardlydirected, laterally-extended nozzles 12 which blow a ribbon of air over the cutter-bar. The rotational adjustment comprises an upstanding bar 20 on the manifold having an aperture to mate selectively with apertures in a bar 18 pivoted to one bracket 17. The ducts 13 each have a forwardly-extending fin-like divider 25.
