Abstract

733,383. Generating combustion products under pressure. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 11, 1954 [Feb. 5, 1953], No. 3273/53. Class 51 (1). A monofuel reaction chamber 10 has a fuel supply nozzle 12 and an exhaust valve 15 connected by a nozzle 16, 17 to a utilization device the fuel supply pipe 13 being provided with control means coupled to the exhaust valve and responsive to its movement, opening of the exhaust valve being utilized to increase the fuel supply to the inlet nozzle. The chamber has a heater 11 and may be provided with an outlet nozzle 14 for discharge of the decomposition products upon starting. As the pressure in the chamber rises, the spring-loaded exhaust valve 15 rises and operates the butterfly valve 19 through the linkwork 18 to increase the supply of fuel.
