Abstract

The degree of dampness of fibrous material is determined by placing a conductor plate 4, 5 on either side of it and using it as a series resistance to charge a condenser 15 in parallel with a gas discharge tube 14, whereby the frequency of flashing of the tube 14 indicates the degree of dampness. The apparatus is contained in a portable case.
