Abstract

732,449. Wall-lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HUBBOLD, S. May 22, 1953 [June 16, 1952], No. 15144/52. Class 75 (4). A bed-light fitting comprises a part-cylindrical reflector 11 mounted behind and below the electric lamp 20 with its axis horizontal so that the light is reflected forwardly and downwardly, and a screen 24 extending around the front and sides of the lamp. The reflector is made of polished anodized aluminium and is secured by bolts 13 in an aperture in a plate 12 having flanges 12<SP>11</SP> which close the ends of the reflector and which are bolted by bolts 14 to a plate 15 mounted within a housing 10 containing the lamp holder 21. The screen 24 is made either of translucent synthetic resinous material or of opaque material and is secured by the bolts 14. The upper edge of the screen is horizontal and its lower edges incline downwardly from its middle point. In a modification, Fig. 3, the lower edge of the reflector 31 engages a bent-up flange 32 on a mounting plate 30 and its upper edge is bolted to a horizontal flange on the mounting plate. The screen 37 is made of aluminium and is secured by bolts to the mounting plate.
