Abstract

732,321. Valves. DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH, Inc. Aug. 4, 1953, No. 21508/53. Class 135. [Also in Group XXVIII] In a container for aerosols from which the contents are discharged when an outlet spout 15 carrying a disc valve 14 is tilted, a cover 21 for the spout has a screw-thread connection therewith so that, as the cover is screwed down, a skirt 25 thereon engages and presses on the adjacent wall of the container to hold the spout and valve in the closed position and prevent them from being inadvertently tilted. The valve seats on a resilient grommet 6 which, when the cover is screwed down, has its upper surface 9 flattened against the wall 3 of the container. When the valve is tilted, the contents of the container can flow through ports 12 into the lower end of the spout. A helical compression spring may be located between the top of wall 3 on the container and a shoulder 31 on the spout. Specification 672,436 is referred to.
