Abstract
732,063. Cylindrical roller bearings. HARDY, SPICER, Ltd., [formerly HARDY, SPICER & CO., Ltd.], (Spicer Manufacturing Corporation). April 29, 1953 [Aug. 20, 1952], No. 20873/52. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group XXIII] In a needle bearing, either the inner race or, as shown in Fig. 3, the outer race is of minimum diameter at an intermediate point 11 between the ends of the race. The tapers from the intermediate point are such that a coacting roller 31, when in its maximum skewed position, makes a continuous line contact with the surfaces of both tapers. The outer race forms part of a cap of a needle bearing for a universal joint.
