Abstract

731,449. Roll-holders. BRITISH-AUSTRALIAN PAPER CO. PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Sept. 30, 1952 [Nov. 9, 1951], No. 24497/52. Class 18. A toilet roll holder is mounted on a bracket 5 having parallel arms 7 and comprises a spindle 6 eccentrically mounted on a shaft 9 and provided with a flange 10 and stop 11 to limit the roll to a partial rotation. The shaft 9 is in threaded engagement at 12 with one of the arms 7, and the other end 9a is formed with a hexagonal head which is disposed within a recess 16 in the other arm 7, a key 18 being required to remove the spindle 6 from the bracket. A tongue 22 pivotally mounted at 23 is contained in a groove 21 in the spindle, and to adjust the spindle to the size of the bore of the particular roll in use, a screw 28 having a hexagonal head 29 disposed within a recess 27 in the spindle 6, may be rotated by the key 18 to cause the tongue 22 to protrude and grip the roll. To assist in gripping the roll the spindle may be serrated. Specification 643,103 is referred to.
