A lighting fixture comprises an elongated central frame 1 having suspension means, lamps 4, 5, 6, 7 mounted above the frame on opposite sides of the centre line thereof, reflectors 8, 9 extending along the frame on either side of the centre line thereof and below the lamps 5, 6 and a plurality of parallel spaced slats 10 ... 17 supported by the frame and disposed parallel thereto and symmetrically on either side thereof. The elongate frame comprises a member la of inverted V section and a horizontal cross-plate 1c and is supported by rods 2, 3 which project through the apex of the member 1a and through the cross-plate 1c and are secured by nuts 2a, 3a. Two lamps are mounted above each inclined surface of the member la on holders which extend through the member 1a. The reflectors 8, 9 have inclined portions which are secured to the inclined surfaces of the member 1a. The reflectors 8, 9 also have vertical portions which are disposed in back to back relationship on opposite sides of the centre line of the fitting. The parallel slats 10 ... 17 are slotted to engage with slotted cross-ribs 20 ... 27 and the ends of the parallel slats rest on inwardly directed flanges 18a, 19a on plates 18b, 19b which are detachably secured to the elongate frame 1 by pins 28, 29 on the plates engaging in openings 1g in resilient arms 1f extending laterally from end plates 1d of the frame member la. The parallel slats are slightly inclined to the vertical and are outwardly flanged at their upper edges which are progressively stepped relatively to each other upwardly from the elongate frame 1. The innermost slats 13, 14 are provided with an integral connecting plate 14a which forms a cover for electrical equipment disposed below the elongate frame.
