Abstract

660.465. Electric light fittings. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., and' GUEST, L. K. Jan. 11, 1950 [Jan. 17, 1949], No. 1209/49. Classes 75(ii), 75(iii) and' 75(iv) In an electric lighting fitting, particularly for fluorescent tubes, an electric supply plug 7a, Fig. 4, and socket 7 and other and other wired wired parts or components are mounted on or in an elongated frame 1 which is slidably detachable endwise from an elongated body or reflector 9, suspension or support of the fitting being effected by endwise slidable engagement of either frame 1 or body 9 with an independently mounted suspension means. The reflector 9 has a cross-section substantially square with the diagonal vertical, the upper part being formed with a slot 10, Fig. 5, and has detachable end closure members 12 carrying lamp holders 13. The members 12 have flanges fitting over the ends of the reflctor 9 to which they are attached by studs 14 and nuts 15, whilst studs 16 and nuts 17 attach them to lugs 2b of the frame 1 which has side flanges 2 parallel to and engaging the upper sides of the reflector 9. The fitting may be suspended by swivel hooks 21 secured to plates 20 which are slid into the reflector 9 from one end after removal of an end plate 12. The plates 20 may be located in recesses 11 provided at the sides of the slot 10. The swivel hooks 21 may be replaced by supporting rods.
