Abstract

782,113. Fluorescent lamp fittings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 31, 1954 [April 1, 1953], No. 9465/54. Class 75(4) [Also in Groups XXXV and XL(a)] A fixture holding four tubular fluorescent lamps, 1, 2 and 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP> of the kind described in Specification 757,307 [Group XXXV] in a parallel arrangement in a horizontal plane comprises a central metal channel 3 in the form of a hollow box-like girder to the ends of which are fastened transverse plates 4 and 5 on the inner faces of which are fastened the sockets or lampholders 6. The lamps are shielded by translucent side panels 7, 7<SP>1</SP> supported by brackets 8 fastened to the ends of channel 3 which is arranged centrally with respect to the panels 7 and 7<SP>1</SP>. The fixture can be attached to a ceiling by a plate having pendant rods 10 fastened to the channel 3. The channel 3 acts as a starting strip for one of the lamps.
