730,579. Connecting cables &c. ALUMINIUM LABORATORIES, Ltd. April 15, 1953 [May 2, 1952], No. 11138/52. Class 109. [Also in Group XXXVI] A main line cable 8 is tapped by a fastening device comprising a waisted body 1, preferably of aluminium section, with apertures 3, 6 for the tap line 4 and main line 8 respectively, the aperture 6 being closed by a keeper 2, furnished with a fin 11 and horns 12, which is slid into place over the cable 8, the fastener being then subjected to high pressure in a hydraulic or other tool whereby suitably-shaped dies press the metal of the fastener device into intimate contact with the main cable and tap line.
