Abstract

423,385. Earthing-devices. LONDON ELECTRIC WIRE CO. & SMITHS, Ltd., and WILDY, E. L., 7, Playhouse Yard, Golden Lane, London. Oct. 31, 1933, No. 30184. [Class 36] An earthing-device comprises a metal rod having three or more longitudinal ribs and connecting means whereby electrical connection can be made to the rod, the connecting means consisting of a member which is mounted on the rod and which carries the means for engaging the rod so as to secure member in position. As shown in the Figure electrical connection is made to a rod of cruciform section by a clip b which slidably engages two adjacent ribs a of the rod. The clip carries a screw d which serves both to secure the clip in position and to clamp the earth wire between the ribs a. The rod may be formed with stops i which limit the movement of the clip b.
