Abstract

730,190. Rotary conveyers. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. April 7, 1953 [May 1, 1952], No. 10967/52. Class 78 (1). In mechanism for transferring articles, e.g. sweets, from one position to another by a pusher, the pusher 15, Fig. 1, is mounted on a parallel motion linkage 38, 39 which is movable about a fixed pivot 52 by a rotary cam 47 and the arms of which are movable about their pivots by a housing member 49 connecting one arm to a rotary eccentric 51. The member 49 and the eccentric 51 have spherical bearing surfaces and a similar joint 53 connects the member 49 to the arm. The linkage 38, 39 comprises a pair of links 38 and a pair of links 39 which are connected at their lower ends by links 41, 42 connected to each other by a bridge piece 40. A forked extension 43 of the pusher 15 connects the upper ends of the links 38, 39. A roller 44 mounted on the link 41 runs in the track 46 of the cam 47. The pusher moves up through a slot 17 in the support 16 and through a recess 34 at the back of a pocket 12 of the feed wheel 13 into the pocket to push an article contained therein to the transfer pocket 14 mounted on the pillar 18. A reciprocating pusher 22 transfers the article from the pocket 14 to a pocket of a mould wheel 26. The lower part 36 of each recess 34, Fig. 4, is flared outwardly to allow the pusher to enter while the wheel is moving. Specification 730,191, [Group XXIV], is referred to.
