777,169. Wrapping-machines. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. March 15, 1956 [March 30, 1955], No. 9223/55. Class 94(1). Articles, such as sweets 11, are fed in succession from pockets 12 in an intermittentlyrotatable feed wheel 13 to successive pockets 14 in an intermittently-rotatable mould wheel 16 by a reciprocating pusher 17, each article engaging and carrying with it a wrapper 18 which is gripped between the upper surfaces of the article and a resiliently-mounted transfer member 19 movable in synchronism with the pusher.- According to the invention, the pusher is pivotally attached to upper and lower arms 23 and 26 pivoted on parallel axes 24 and 27 and is actuated by a cam 37 operating a bellcrank lever 28, 34 which is pivoted on the axis 24 and coupled by a link 29 to an extension 31 of the arm 26. The lower end of the link is adjustable in an arcuate slot 32 in the extension 31 so that the stroke of the pusher may be varied to suit articles of different thicknesses. The radius of the slot is equal to the length of the link and the axis of this radius coincides with the axis of the pivotal connection between the link and lever 28 when the pusher is at the upper limit of its stroke, so that the pusher always rises to the same level irrespective of variations in its length of stroke.
