[Also in Group XIV] In a table comprising a leaf hingedly connected to the table top and adapted to be moved from a hanging position, through a position in which it forms an extension to the table top, to a position in which it lies flatly upon the latter, the hinges connecting together the table top and leaf each have a pair of plates connected pivotally to the respective ends of a link, and a surface on the link is arranged to abut against a surface on another part to restrict relative pivotal movement between the leaf and the link. As shown in Fig. 3, plates 6 and 8, attached respectively to the table top 3 and leaf 4, are pivoted at 6<SP>1</SP> and 8<SP>1</SP> to the ends of a link 7, and a projecting V-shaped stop 11 on the link co-operates with a slanting abutment surface 12 on the plate 8. The hinged edges of the table top and back are slotted as at 16 to allow for pivotal movement of the link, and are supported by a gate-leg structure 13. In a modification, Fig. 5, the plate carried by the table top comprises a pair of angle members between the opposed faces of which the link 29 is pivoted at 36. The plate carried by the leaf is T-shaped in form, the link entering a slot in the central portion of the plate, being pivoted thereto at 31, and being arranged to abut the closed bottom 30 of the slot. In a further modification, Fig. 8, the abutment surface is provided by a separate part 39 secured to the leaf, the plates 41, 42 being received within the leaf 40 and table top 56, and being pivoted at 46 and 47 to the link 45.
