727,579. Diaphragm pumps and compressors. ETABLISSEMENTS, A. GUIOT. Dec. 17, 1951 [Dec. 21, 1950; March 6, 1951], No. 29486/51. Classes 8 (1) and 102 (1). In a pump for liquids or gases, at least two diaphragms 1, 2 are fixed in a housing 3 and are biased by tension springs 40 in a direction to effect the delivery strokes and are actuated on the suction strokes by an eccentric 18. Each diaphragm carries an annular member 24 which surrounds the eccentric and has a projection 29, the edge of which is parallel with the diaphragm and is engaged by the eccentric. In a modification the springs 40 are replaced by compression springs arranged between a pair of the diaphragms.
