Abstract
727,524. Clips. LEON CO., Inc., I. Feb. 13, 1953 [Aug. 15, 1952], No. 4094/53. Class 44. [Also in Group XIV] A hair curl clip comprises upper and lower members each made from a single piece of metal and rockably engaging each other, each member having an intermediate fulcrum portion from which a jaw extends forward and a handle backwards, the handle of the upper jaw being formed with an aperture through which a spring tongue integral with the lower jaw passes to press the jaws together. As shown, the lower jaw 11 has spaced slotted fingers 14, a flat intermediate portion 13 and a handle 16 the handle and flat portion being die cut to provide a spring tongue 17 and upwardly extending lugs 21. The upper jaw 12 has spaced slotted fingers 26 which overlie the fingers 14 and may be joined by a cross brace 27 a curved intermediate portion 28, and a handle 29 formed with an aperture 30 receiving the lugs 28 through which the tongue 17 projects. The tip 17a of the tongue presses the jaws together and allows a rocking movement to open the jaws when the handles are pressed together the lugs 28 preventing sideways movement of the jaws. In a modification single fingers forming the jaws are transversely corrugated. Specification 631,412 is referred to.
