Abstract
727,387. Making mincing-machines. NORDAP-KRAFTFAHRZEUG GES. Oct. 28, 1953 [Oct. 28, 1952], No. 29818/53. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group VI] Instead of the usual fixed perforated plate of a mincer, a steel strip 21 spirally wound on its edge and provided with castellations or grooves 22 in its other edge which form the equivalent of. the perforations is used to give a better scissors-like action with the rotating knives than circular perforations. Such castellations may be provided on both edges of the strip and.may converge towards their bottoms to give nearly radial cutting edges. Alternatively the castellations may be substituted by a V or corrugated formation of waves, Fig. 7. The coils may be separated by an intervening plain strip 29. The inner end 20 of the strip 21 is bent in, to fit in a radial slot 16 in the flange 15 of a hub 13 of a ring 11 fixed by a key..into the mincer body. The spiral strip 21 is flush with and is a press-fit in a recess 17 in the ring 11. The coil strip is supported by spokes 12 against the pressure of the material being fed in. The grooves 22 may be milled or hobbed in the strip which may then be hardened and ground flat after coiling. The strip may be secured in the ring 11 by thermal heat-shrinking.
