Class 38 (5) A switch, Fig. 1, has contact-carrying insulating plates 3, 4 mounted on a shaft 2, the contacts 11 ... 16 on the plate 3 co-operating with fixed contacts 31 ... 34 and those 21 ... 26 on the plate 4 co-operating with fixed contacts 41 ... 44. The moving contacts 11, 12 and 21, 22 are connected to oppositely disposed contacts 16, 15 and 26, 25 respectively, on their own insulating plates, whilst the moving contacts 13, 14 on plate 3 are cross-connected to the contacts 43, 44 on the plate 4. Thus with the switch in the position shown, the conductors, e.g. transmitter conductors, secured to fixed contacts 31, 32 are connected through the switch to the conductors, e.g. aerial conductors, secured to fixed contacts 43, 44 and the other conductors shown are disconnected. On turning the shaft through 90 degrees in either direction, through connections are established from the conductors to the left of the plate 3 to those at the right and similarly the conductors associated with the plate 4 are through connected.
