727,022. Electric heating; current supply. MORPHY-RICHARDS, Ltd. Nov. 13th, 1952 [Aug. 13, 1951], No. 19012/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group XXXVII] A smoothing iron adapted for operation on two voltage ranges (e.g. 100-120 or 200-250v.) and having main and ancillary heating elements (e.g. as disclosed in Specification 710,422) includes a switch (see Group XXXVII) whereby when the iron is connected to the higher voltage range only the main heating element is energized, whereas when connection is made to the lower voltage range the switch operates automatically to connect the ancillary heating element in parallel with the main element.
