726,877. Freezing apparatus for soil stabilization. FORAKY SOC. ANON. July 16, 1953 [Oct. 10, 1952], No. 19757/53. Class 68(1). In apparatus, that is inserted into a borehole to permit of the freezing of the ground in the vicinity of the borehole, the tube, by which the refrigerant is conducted to the bottom of the borehole, comprises a material substantially impermeable to heat. The use of such a material in the construction of the tube reduces the amount of heat transmitted through the tube to the descending refrigerant from the used refrigerant ascending around the outside of the tube. The tube may be made of a substantially heat impermeable plastic material, or may be a metal tube lined internally and externally, or externally only, with heat impermeable material.
